I would like to make you aware of the blocked drains all along Casterton Road and Scotgate in Stamford due to the grass verges being left to grow during May then cut down and the debris not taken away. We and several other properties/businesses at the bottom of the hill on Scotgate where very close to flooding yesterday in the storms. If it wasn’t for us and some other residents coming out and clearing all the blocked drains during the storm. If this had happened when we were not around, I’m sure we would have come into a flooded shop. I urge you to send out a clean-up team ASAP to clear as much debris as possible and unblock the drains before the next down pour. It has obviously also caused a large mess outside my shop which I had to clear up this morning !!! This has happened during both storms.
