To the right hand side of the entrance gate to Laburnum Cottage
Reported via desktop in the Fallen tree or branch category by Glenn Oldfield at 14:33, Tue 27 June 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 463395.
We have recently moved into Laburnum Cottage and think the tree (on highways adopted land) needs to be trimmed, made safe etc. High delivery vans also complain that the branches damage their vehicles. The tree is very large/established and significantly overhangs our land. We dont want it removed but appropriately maintained. Also the Middlefield lane that continues past Laburnum Cottage is used by walkers, cyclist, horse riders, horse carrages, dog walkers.....but also vehicles. There is no safe verge to enable any passing and if the verges were cut, that would at least give non vehicles a safe place to stand whilst cars pass. The winding lane also presents visability challenges which adds to my safety concerns

Thanks for letting us know about the issue. In this case the trees in this area are not on Highways maintainable land and are most likely riparian ownership. To find the owner of the land you could contact Land Registry at https://www.gov.uk/ government/ organisations/ land-registry Thank you for reporting this matter.

Apologies for format as unable to send PDF. The attached highways search strongly shows that the tree is indeed within the highways adopted land and as such would expect the tree to be maintained. We currently maintain the verge that runs parallel to Middlefield Lane due to highways not maintaining that area I would request that you have a further look at this plan. You have failed to reply to the issue I raised re the length of Middlefield Lane that runs behind our property so I also look forward to that response. Thanks Glenn

Hi, really disappointing that you have failed to send me an update since my last request as you appear to have been "investigating" for ages. Could you therefore send me an urgent response to confirm at what point your investigation is at. Thanks Glenn

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

Hi, dissappointly, I am not aware that you have actioned any of the 2 items in the original request (27th June 2023). This is totally acceptable and my patience is running out. Can you either reply asap with an update with a clear date for the works or advise how I escalate. being reasonable is getting me nowhere
