Why have we closed this report? We cleaned this areas drains in the last year and our last inspection showed that they are working well. It’s worth noting though that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains like these can be overwhelmed. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Thank you for reporting this matter.

Every time it rains water stands here, so unless you class every rain shower as extreme then there's a problem.

When it rains, the blocked drains on both sides of the road make water run off down the roadway towards the Dovecote down the side of The Barn. Over time, this has led to a deterioration of the wall mortar opposite the paddock shown and has caused other drains to block with muck and dirt caught in the run-off. It does not take much to cause minor flooding in this area and I often watch the Royal Mail individual looking for a 'dry route' to empty the postbox. The fact that the drains have been cleared in the last year has not made the problem go away.

Keep reporting. The more people that do so, the more they'll have to actually do! They're half-job cowboys at best.

The drain is STILL blocked and yesterday's weather (20/10/23, Storm Babbet) exacerbated the issue. The junction with Northgate Lane was flooded for a substantial area. Car were coming round the corners not seeing the flooding water.
