Out side house called Terra Nova Town Drove Quadring

Reported via desktop in the Sign (unlit) category anonymously at 17:30, Sunday 17 September 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 471051.

A Brand new people in road sign has been erected in the last few days. They have put it directly behind a tree on the opposite side of the road to the traffic that need to see it. The sign cannot be seen as you will see from the photos. The sign is really needed to help let cars know there is no pavement. It could easily be moves 10 meters so traffic can actually see it. The tree will get bigger each year so no point in having a sign there.

  • Thank you for your comments. Options for sign placement are limited at this location, due to narrow verge widths and utility services. On the opposite side of the carriageway, which would be the best location of the the sign, there is not enough verge width to install the sign safely. We will continue to monitor and will make changes if necessary in the future. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • The sign is hidden behind a tree and needs to be moved or the tree needs to be cut down to enable traffic to see the sign. There is no shortage of space to put the sign on that side of the road. BT and Electric poles are able to manage it and they are much larger. All the utilities on that side of the road are overhead so there is nothing to stop the pole being moved to where it is visible.
