Passageway from Newboults Lane to Casterton Road, light mounted on wall of no. 30 Casterton Road

As you go down the passageway between Newboults Lane and nos 30 and 32 Casterton Road there is an essential light. It is mounted high on the exterior wall of no 30, on the left just as the steps start. This light is not working and the cover has been removed, resulting in an extremely dangerous situation as it is impossible to see the steps in the dark. This evening it was raining hard and I found it very difficult to locate each step as it was so dark.

    Now that the nights are drawing in and the mornings getting darker this is getting to be a dangerous situation. Please can you make fixing this light a priority.

  • This has NOT been fixed. I have just walked up the steps in pitch darkness and can confirm that there is no light at all. This is a really dangerous situation and in the icy conditions last week it was treacherous. Someone is going to have a nasty fall and break a limb at this rate.

  • This issue, first reported on 20th September (4 months ago) STILL hasn't been sorted. It is an extremely dangerous situation and the need to replace the missing light is essential. When will it be done, please?

  • I'm the resident of number 30 - someone from the highways team came out to see me in September and I approved all and any works needed. He said he'd follow up on email (and I received nothing)

    Nothing has been done since, it is so dangerous.

    Please can this be sorted asap???
