  • This happened to my car in June this year. Put a claim in against the council as it damaged the tyre, and the wheel costing me £250 to get a new tyre and the wheel repaired. Since then ive had to replace the tyre again becuase the damage to the wheel was to much to repair and hold pressure therefore ive had to replace the wheel.

Funny enough received their 'response/decision' today.

In summary it says 1. They take no responsibility for the damage - its not their fault.

    2. Because its not what they deem a 'busy' road an inspection once a year is enough. (Apparently November 2022 was the last inspection date) - I don't believe for 1 minutes all these pot holes have appeared from November 2022 - June 2023.

    3. There has been no reported incidents within the last 12 months about the issues. - maybe not online within the last 12 months but I've found this, and issues from 2019 which means these issues haven't been addressed since 2019.

Absolutely shocking. If you have had a damaged wheel/tyre down this road since June 2023 then contact the local council as I have recored it.
