Manthorpe Road, Grantham, number 20

Reported via desktop in the Sign (unlit) category anonymously at 19:07, Tuesday 26 September 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 471993.

The 'diversion' road sign is obstructing the footpath thus forcing footpath users to walk in the road. Mobility scooters and prams also have to use the road. There are no safety barriers around the obstruction..

There is no indication that the diversion is up Castlegate or along Brook Street.

I suspect that the sign is connected to a part of Castlegate being used for building work purposes. Obviously the road sign does not belong to a utility or a highways contractor as they would ensure pedestrian safety.

I do not understand why it is necessary to endanger pedestrians using the Manthorpe Road footpath.
