Outside 86 Wragby Road, Sudbrooke

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 474825.
Good afternoon, The storm drain at 86 Wragby Rd, Sudbrooke is completely blocked solid - as is 99% of the drains on this road. Rain water is pouring like a stream down number 86's drive and is filling their drive. Due to the slope the water is filling my drive also (number 88) and is laying against the house. (These houses are on a lower level than the main road.) All along this road (A158) the drains are blocked and very large puddles are across the road, there is a very real danger of vehicles aquaplaning. I'm afraid the usual quick fix of shovelling the opening to the drains is completely inadequate as these drains require rodding and jetting to the main pipe. This problem happens every time there is any prolonged rainfall, I try to keep my drain free of debris but it isn't my job to do so, also you can appreciate it is quite dangerous for me to do this task on this busy road as I don't have the safety that your crew work under. Regards Mr S. Kennedy

We are sorry we are not taking immediate action on this request. Please be aware that the County Council is dealing with a significant number of flooding enquiries at this time which can only be investigated based on actual severity and your enquiry is not considered a priority at this time. Should you feel your property is at risk your first action should be to contact the emergency services who will assess the situation and act accordingly. Pease note that the level of rainfall being recorded during this flooding event is significant and it is likely that the contributory cause of the reported flooding is related to the overall capacity of the highway drainage system being exceeded.
