The culvert that is supposed to take water from the dyke is blocked. At the end of the dyke, the culvert goes under the lane, and comes out some distance away at the end of Chapel Lane. When the flooding occurred we could see very little water coming out of the Chapel Lane end of the culvert, despite the dyke overflowing at the Grange Lane end. Picture shows where the dyke ends and culvert begins.

The adjacent landowner has confirmed that the dyke is owned by LCC (contrary to the response given on 31/10/23). Since then the situation has worsened. Rainwater on the road hides potholes, vehicles have damaged the verge, water has flowed down my drive and into next door garden, up to the front wall of their house. At least 3 houses are in danger of flooding. We are also worried about danger to cyclists and elderly pedestrians. The road needs to be resurfaced and proper drainage installed, as well as repairing the dyke and unblocking the culvert at the end of the dyke.
