Cause not known but not working during yesterdays floods.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because the County has received a large amount of rainfall in a short space of time and as such we are having to prioritise flooding sites which pose a risk to life or significant risk of internal flooding. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment gullies may not be able to drain away into watercourses which are full or backing up. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Rest assured that our we will be inspecting all drains and gullies in the coming weeks once the emergency response is over. Thank you for reporting this matter.

Case 475391 Drains are still blocked. Pictures taken today in far from heavy rain. I'm sure the properties that had significant internal flooding not 50mtrs from here will be comforted to know that you will be "inspecting all drains and gullies in the coming weeks" After the flooding in 2007 lots of promises were made but nothing happened. The image of the ditch is AFTER it was cleaned out the day before the storm!
