Reported via desktop in the Flowing water, life or property at risk category anonymously at 12:06, Sat 21 October 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 475412.

I contacted you yesterday about water getting near the house from the main road because the drain gap on the road was blocking water from draining and you assured me that the job was sorted. Its far from sorted.Reference number 475167. I included photo of the bloocked small draining outlet. I still have water in front and side of my house as there is no outlet for it to drain as it poured in from the main road. It also entered both my neighbours gardens. i would be grateful if you could send somebody around to see it and fix the badly neglected draining system on the main road opposite my house. I am 70 yrs old and find it scary and hard to cope with rain water pouring from the main road to the front of my house. Please dont say its sorted when its not. I am sure you are busy.

  • The County has received a large amount of rainfall in a short space of time and as such we are having to prioritise flooding sites which pose a risk to life or significant risk of internal flooding. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment gullies may not be able to drain away into watercourses which are full or backing up. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Rest assured that our we will be inspecting all drains and gullies in the coming weeks once the emergency response is over.

    State changed to: Investigating
