  • The County has received a large amount of rainfall in a short space of time and as such we are having to prioritise flooding sites which pose a risk to life or significant risk of internal flooding. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment gullies may not be able to drain away into watercourses which are full or backing up. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Rest assured that our we will be inspecting all drains and gullies in the coming weeks once the emergency response is over.

If your enquiry is not related to flooding please rest assured that we will be assessing the issue you've reported and will respond to you again.

  • I consider the issue to be very urgent!! It’s not just under extreme weather conditions that problems arise. As soon as it rains the path and road are flooded which has led to the surfaces of both breaking up and becoming a hazard to pedestrians and motorists. The drain has been reported as blocked many times. I even managed to report it in person with a council representative who was on site for another issue and they managed to get the drain on the opposite side cleared by mistake.
