Road side drain on junction of Kennel Lane and Kennel Walw

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 15:18, Fri 27 October 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 476479.

The roadside drain is blocked on the junction of Kennel Lane and Kennel Walk. In fact all the roadside drains along the path side of Kennel Lane are blocked. This causes all of the rain water coming off Kennel Lane to be directed down Kennel Walk and the drains here cannot cope. This cause them to block and floods the road. Kennel Lane is shown on the Environmental Agency website as a risk of flooding. This means the water from Kennel Lane is draining into Kennel Walk, which is private property, is unacceptable. Do not come back with the excuse that your resources are only tackling risks of flooding, this is. This has nothing to do with last weeks storm, I realise these drains would have been overcome. It happens everytime there is a down poor of rain

  • I notice that the tarmac on the path above this drain I have reported has been replaced. I had assumed that the drain had been repaired. On inspecting the drain whilst raining last week, the water bypasses the drain and comes around the corner in to Kennel Lane, as before. Looking over the green railings, there is a large plastic pipe which is far too long. Is this new? Under heavy rain, the stream level rises and the pipe goes under the water. This must back up the water and also effect the drain. This was not the case last week though, the pipe was above the level of the stream and water still did not drain any water. Please advise Please advise
