Frontage of 24 & 26 Station Road, Halton Holegate

Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 14:30, Mon 30 October 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 476831.

The boundary hedge at the front of 24 & 26 Station Road has been allowed to overgrow and now significantly impedes on the safe use of the public footpath. Under the Highways Act 1980, a public footpath which is not a field edge path must be no less than 1 metre in width. It is impossible to walk along the path with a pushchair, meaning you must walk in the road. This is further made worse during school drop-off and pick-up times as cars park on the bend, meaning we must walk around the cars, against oncoming traffic, on a blind bend. Please can this be addressed as a matter of urgency.
