Outside 20 Clinton Drive NG34 7LU

Reported via desktop in the Damaged/missing paving slab category by Richard Anthony Scott at 17:11, Mon 30 October 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 476861.

As per previous report and works that took place in May 2023, the raising of the kerbstones is still insufficient. The rain today 30th Oct and Friday 20th Oct has yet again caused the drain outside 27 Ancaster Drive to overflow and pour additional water in Clinton Drive. See photos from today this excess water ended up flooding our front garden and would reach the house if I didn't open the drain in the garden. The real issue is the drain in Ancaster Drive which really can't cope with heavy rain. Todays was half an hour to produce what you see. On the 20th Oct the water was pouring into our drive and down two drains. I would also refer you to the residents of 5,7,9,11,13,& 15 Ambleside who suffered massive flooding on the 20th Oct.

  • NB, the only way I can stop the ingress of water is to sandbag my drop kerb

  • Thank you for your response regarding investigating, please can I ask that someone speaks to us directly, so we can explain what happens. Someone did visit last time and take a photo but didn't come and speak to use. It is not as simple as the drop kerb being too low, it is the surface of the pavement that actually seems to feed the waterflow onto to our drive

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because works are no longer required, We will re-assess situation if problem persists. Driveway has been block paved by home owner recently, therefore original design no longer feasible so will need a new design should works be required in the future. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • Thank you for the update. We moved out of the property 6 months ago, and it appears the new owners have upgraded the driveway. Our interest in this matter has now ended
