Short Ferry Road, Short Ferry within Fiskeron Parish Council area.

Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering more than half the road category by Paul Fishwick at 12:14, Wed 1 November 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 477120.

Yesterday I asked for signs to be placed out in Ferry Road, Fiskerton, to stop traffic getting to the bridge at Short Ferry where the road is now closed, and likely to remain so for some time to come on Short Ferry Road. 4 years ago when the road was closed for several weeks you were able to put signs out in Ferry Road Fiskerton advising motorists, including HGV drivers who frequently use this route, that the route was not passable. Why can't the council place out signs again to save drivers the big inconvenience of getting nowhere, especially HGV drivers.

  • The County has received a large amount of rainfall in a short space of time and as such we are having to prioritise flooding sites which pose a risk to life or significant risk of internal flooding. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment gullies may not be able to drain away into watercourses which are full or backing up. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Rest assured that our we will be inspecting all drains and gullies in the coming weeks once the emergency response is over.

If your enquiry is not related to flooding please rest assured that we will be assessing the issue you've reported and will respond to you again.
