Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 479633.

There is gas mains works currently being undertaken along Newark road. In each of the excavations there are what appears to be blocked and broken highways drain pipes. The drains fail to remove water from the road in this location and have failed to remove water for some time. It would be prudent to investigate whilst the gas main is being being replaced as there is already access to the drain under the pavement.

Why have we closed this report? We cleaned this areas drains in the last year and our last inspection showed that they are working well. It’s worth noting though that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains like these can be overwhelmed. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Thank you for reporting this matter.
