From No4 to No 8a Hill Road, Springthorpe.

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 480383.

This bend is a low part of the village so rain water runs to here from Church Lane down Hill road and down School Lane, from the junction with Chapel Lane, down to Hill Road. The flooding drains away very, very slowly from a few hrs to over 24 + hrs and on some occasions can take a couple of days. this all depends on the volume , longevity and intensity of the rain. This flooding has been happening throughout the year and for many years. We have this water, soil and road debris washing down our drives, which we have to clear up every time, mainly due to inconsiderate traffic speed.

    Problematic on a bend as some vehicles don’t slow right down. Just watched a van drive on the wrong side of the road (where it’s less deep) and on the footpath.

  • A quick update for you. We’ve been to site and made this problem safe with a temporary repair. We are going to return to do a permanent fix.
