Dawnhill Lane North on No.19 Two drains either side

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 480696.

Recurring problem of blocked drains causing standing water all the way down Brook Street which freezes causing significant risk to pedestrians and motor vehicles. Vehicles used during recent footpath and pothole repairs have damaged verges forcing soil into western drain / covering drain (now cleared by residents) but both drain covers overflowing

  • Residents have reported the recurrent problem of flooding on the corner of Dawnhill Lane and Brook Street several times. In the recent freezing weather, this section of road presented a likely and serious risk of injury to pedestrians and road users. The Parish Council request an urgent investigation of the drains causing the continuous flow of water along the road and a permanent solution to the problem is urgently needed to prevent a foreseeable accident.

    Recent weather has made the road a dangerous hazard. Thick sheet ice is posing danger to pedestrians and drivers. Also makes access to our drive difficult due to the icy conditions. How long before a team actually turn up to action work that was allocated back in December!!!

  • The Parish Council request that urgent attention is given to this ongoing and frequently reported problem. The continuous flow of water along this stretch of road, which is now an extensive stretch of ice, poses a significant hazard to road users and pedestrians and the likelihood of an accident is very high. Please respond with a definite date for work to commence. Hemswell Council, Parish Clerk.
