Old main road between Birdsong and valley cottage

Reported via mobile in the Damaged dyke, ditch or culvert category anonymously at 09:58, Mon 4 December 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 481228.

The drainage conduit under the road is partially blocked. We have reported this problem before. The conduit is constructed from brick and needs investigation it is not flowing as it should be. We have found bricks in the dyke which have clearly fallen from inside the conduit.

  • Taken today at 1230. Saturday 9th December I am having to block the public path which is a hazard to stop the water coming into my property.

  • The County has received a large amount of rainfall in a short space of time and as such we are having to prioritise flooding sites which pose a risk to life or significant risk of internal flooding. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains and watercourses can become overwhelmed. This Cuvert is not maintained by Lincolnshire county council. Its the riparian owners responsibility to maintain the culvert to ensure water can run freely as intended. Your local IDB may be able to assist you with this. Thankyou for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
