Entire length of Tanners Lane

Reported via desktop in the Flowing water, no risk to life or property category anonymously at 11:29, Mon 4 December 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 481253.

The water which covers most of the road generally starts somewhere along Irnham road, maybe all of Irnham Road , I don't know. I have lived here since early 2000. We used to have the 'river' running every couple of years, now it is much more frequently. This is the 4th time since Storm Ciaran, ie the start of November. The last time we complained, several yeas ago,we were told it was the water company which it wasn't. One of your tankers came and sucked out a total of 2 tankers of mud and water which improved the situation. I am concerned especially because my property is near the road and at the grass bank is constantly being eroded. The man hole outside our property used to be entirely in the front grass, now only about half is. A large number of vehicles, cars, large lorries and tractors included use the lane and drive at fairly high speeds, including when it is flooded, and I am concerned that they are eroding the bank even more, as the vehicles cause bow waves. I realise that we are having a lot of rain this autumn/winter but i would very much appreciate it if you would investigate the drainage down the road.

With thanks Barbara Wesley
