  • As of 13th February 2024, the Lincolnshire County Council Highway team has not undertaken any work since this report was made on the 8th December 2023 regarding the damaged dyke, ditch, or culvert on Toynton Lane, Halton Holegate. This lack of action exacerbates concerns about potential risks, particularly the imminent danger posed by water accumulation leading to flooded roads. Compounding the issue, the land adjacent to the flooded road has been submerged since November. This prolonged flooding is directly attributable to the damaged dyke, ditch, or culvert on Toynton Lane, Halton Holegate, rendering the land unsuitable for livestock and disrupting agricultural activities.

The situation demands urgent attention, as prolonged flooding not only impacts road safety but also disrupts the lives of local residents. The absence of action by the Highway Team highlights the pressing need for immediate intervention to mitigate further damage and ensure the safety and functionality of the affected area.

In light of these circumstances, it is imperative for the Lincolnshire County Council Highway team to prioritise the repair of the damaged infrastructure. Swift action is crucial to prevent escalating hazards, safeguard the community, and restore the usability of the land for agricultural purposes. It is imperative that the Highway Team addresses this matter promptly to mitigate the detrimental effects of the prolonged flooding and alleviate the hardships faced by local residents.
