Once again, a blocked drain at the junction of Station Road, Town Road and Holton Road in Tetney has caused flooding right across the road. As a result, vehicles in both directions are driving around the water to try to avoid it. Having previously (about 5 times, now) reported this problem, I was assured that the, "job has been allocated to one of our gangs", but nothing has been done. This morning, I was also informed that an older lady further down Town Road has once again experienced such bad flooding to her property that she cannot use her toilet. Because of this she apparently drove to Tesco in Hewitt's Circus last night to use the facilities there! This really should not be happening, especially to an older person. Clearly, something needs to be done about the drainage system in Tetney, which has no doubt connected to the many new houses that have been built. My next comment will probably raise a few laughs in your office, but if nothing is done, I will be raising this issue with the MP for Tetney, Victoria Atkins.

Could someone please confirm from the council that this road drain is or isn’t Connection to the main sewers, I presume it is, due to the age of the drainage infrastructure, f this is the caseI presume there is a high risk of sewage flowing down the street, I also expect the council will have tested this surface water to confirm it, although the work has been looked at, this has been an issue since since at least last November, from looking back at recent reports, I shall expect some urgency on this matter and if no work is commenced by early March then I shall enter a stage 1 complaint, and would advise any other residents reading this report to do the same, on Health and Safety concerns and lack of urgency on this matter.
