Sleaford rd ln50pz / water tower lane

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category by Martyn Everett at 06:39, Wed 27 December 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 484478.

The drain, (What3Words location: damage.heap.startles) subject of this report and shown in the photograph taken 23rd December 2023 is one of those brought to your attention on 7th October, 2023, your Ref: 473108. The status of this report was changed to closed on 19th October 2023 Subsequently, in response to a concerned resident’s complaint Ref: 85698, Mr. Rowan Smith’s stated “We can confirm that works to clear the drains on Sleaford Road were carried out on 1st December, within the 2-week timescale as promised”. As you can see from the photograph taken on 23rd December,2023, this statement is incorrect. Only 3 of 15 drains between the junction with Water Tower Lane and A607, Leadenham were cleared. Mr Rowan Smith also stated, “This location will always be a difficult one to manage due to the steep hill adjacent to this property”, which clearly indicates he is aware of the dangers of flooding, particularly to the Post Office, from surface water from Sleaford Road.
