Eastholme, Grantham Road, Greylees (Opposite the Garage)

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category by Paul Carpenter at 10:53, Wed 3 January 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 25 minutes later. Council ref: 486035.

Due to the heavy rain and the saturated ground my Garden has become inundated to a depth of 10 - 12". The depth is such that the water level has risen above the base of my suspended floor air vents and has flooded the space beneath the wooden floors. During periods of heavy rain the Fields to the East and South of my property become flooded as does the compound of the Anglian Water Sewerage Pumping Station, RAUGSP, resulting in sewerage backing up into my property. The main cause of this flooding is because the roadside Dyke that runs from the A153/A15 Roundabout, Westward towards Greylees, cannot discharge the run off water, at the termination point, under the A153 to field dykes and subsequently into the River Slea at Boiling Wells Farm. Your urgent attention to this matter would be most appreciated.

  • Following up on the original email; no effort has been made to clear the drainage dyke on the roadside or check on the ability of the culvert under the A153 to dissipate water in periods of heavy rain.
