Reported via mobile in the Other road surface issue category anonymously at 18:07, Wednesday 7 February 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 492471.

By way of background information, I moved to the area in June 2023 and I have observed the below concerns from the 9/06/23 - present day. I have two issues I need addressing, as follows:

1. Flooding. The path abutting my house floods whenever there is both heavy and light (but continuous) rain. It floods, I think, because there is not a lip in front of the drain opposite my house located on the road (please note there are two drains, one located on the path abutting my property and the second is on the road abutting the path adjacent to my property). And therefore the overspill flows from this drain to the foot path, and, because the drain located on the road overflows (as I understand it) into the footpath drain which completely floods the footpath. This causes me problems accessing the road/footpath from my house without wearing wellies (even in the heat of the summer). The flooding has been so bad in the 8 months of me living in the property that the water ingresses into my UPVC porch and has rotted the wood door, which I am now replacing, and through the front walls into the internal front room. The drains have been cleared by myself and other residents of leaves /debris sitting on top of the drains, and they have been cleared by the county council in December, however, the problem still persists. 2. The property is circa latw 1800’s well before the current road surfaces were built. The current road has been built in such a way that when heavy loads travel across this road, particularly lorry’s, tractors, buses etc and the entire upstairs and front vibrates and shakes. It rattles the property and is of such a vibration that is not just noise but causing amplified waves shaking the house. I can physically feel the upstairs floors shaking. We suspect the vibrations are carrying under the road, travelling across to the house and vibrating upwards into the house. There are cracks in the house and it is our belief they are being impacted by this event happening.
