Bourne Cemetery Lay-by

Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 10:34, Fri 9 February 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 492746.

The layby at the cemetery has no path for pedestrians, pushchairs and mobility scooters. The pavement from the north end is too narrow and becomes a dead end when vehicles are parked in the layby and the south end has a narrow pavement studded with bricks and a trip hazard. With vehicles in the layby pedestrians have to walk on the road. Vehicles turning right into Drummond Rd cause traffic to undertake using the layby. This is a safety issue that has been like this for 20 years, and with the increase in population that Elsie Park has delivered, needs addressing.

  • We're sending you this message to let you know that we've assessed the footway/highway condition and at this time it does not require urgent repair. However we have identified this location for a larger scale improvement scheme. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates for this or definitely commit to the scheme because we prioritise these schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County footway network and the resources available to us each year. We will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspections of the highway in the meantime. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
