This is the situation this afternoon. It has been like this for a good 3 days. To make it worse, very heavy rain is forecast with weather warnings this evening and overnight. This is a recurring issue that is getting worse and needs proper action. I believe the drain under the road is broken.

After heavy rain last night, the water now stretches all across the road. It is draining on the side with the houses, but no drainage on the phone box side. This needs properly investigating as it is not just a blocked drain.

If this issue gets looked at please can you take a look at the photo attached. This is further up the main road. The road drain is blocked and therefore the water from the dyke is unable to flow. This is an issue reported since January. It needs sorting asap. I believe there is a problem at the crossroad drains too as I see standing water when I walk my dog.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.
