From Draipipe Road crossing outside Brandsfield bungalow next to post box down to the corner past The Bungalow on Birds Drove.

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 14:55, Sunday 18 February 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 494488.

There is a collapsed drain on the road crossing outside of Brandsfield bungalow next to the post box. Two inspection covers either side of the road denote the crossing (as per picture). From this point down Bird Drove (West), on the left side (South), all of the surface water is held up by the collapsed drain causing road flooding and the water to back fill into the septic tanks of Brandsfield, D.E Brand & Sons, Medway House and The Bungalow. The Bungalow is suffering from damp as drain water that is held up, is back filling into the foundations. DE Brand & Sons Ltd, have tried jetting the crossing and a camera has confirmed over a year ago, that the drain has collapsed under the road. On the same side of the road, there is also a collapsed drain along the roadside shed of DE Brand & Sons Ltd. None of the water is held up by catch-pit drain blockages, as you have cleaned. On the right side of Birds Drove, from DE Brand & Sons Ltd yard, the road drain is blocked for approx 100 metres, to the corner past The Bungalow. None of the blockages are catch-pit drains, as you have cleaned out, it is the pipe that is silted up. The problem has been occurring and has been getting worse for approx 5 years. The outfall for the drains both sides of the road, is at the top of Birds Drove and the water level in the dyke is approx 6 feet below ground level and falling into a Welland & Deeping drain. The water always takes approx 1 week to soak away into the bordering property grounds. The continual flooding is causing damage to the adjoining properties. The properties effected all belong to DE Brand & Sons Ltd farming. I would appreciate you contacting me asap to arrange an onsite meeting to show and explain in further detail the cause of the problems.
