Investigating
Pathway besides arboretum on South facing side
Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 09:30, Tuesday 20 February 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 494818.
For several meters of the pavement are covered. The complete width of the pavement is covered. Water is seeping out of the stone work into Monks Road. In a couple of places there where water is pouring out of gaps in the masonry in the same manner water would run out of a tap at home. The path is impassable and the water could be as deep as 4 inches in places. This happens now whenever there is heavy rainfall however this is the worst it has been for some time.
The foot path needs to be signposted as flooded so pedestrians stop going down the path. The integrity of the wall between the path and the road needs to be checked that it can withstand being this water logged.
There is a great deal of water build up with in the park itself and the ponds are full to the brim.
There is an Anglian water drain on the path south of the pond which always over flows whenever there is rain however that does not appear to be feeding in to the flooding at the other end of the foot path. I will attempt to report that drain to Anglian separately.

The problem persists and is unresolved. The pathway is still impassable and every day water is oozing through the stone work and across the road.
