Midholm

Reported via mobile in the Street light category anonymously at 08:28, Thursday 22 February 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 495178.

Our street lights aren't coming on until after 6.10am, which is way too late. They are only on for a very short while before going off again, less than 45 mins. Can they please be adjusted to come on earlier, when they are actually needed. Thank you.

Updated by Lincolnshire County Council at 09:15, Thursday 22 February 2024

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because, the UK adjusts clocks between British Summertime and Greenwich Mean Time in the spring and autumn. The lights have individual sensors that monitor the number of daylight hours which adjust for the change to British Summertime or Greenwich Mean Time. That means the sensors on the part-night lights enter a period of adjustment during spring and autumn, where the lights may start to turn off, or dim, slightly earlier or later than normal. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable but should have little or no impact on safety. Thank you for reporting this matter.
