Verge outside Mill Cottage A607 Boothby Graffoe / Navenby Border
Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 13:41, Thursday 22 February 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 495266.
Whenever it rains water flows off the road onto the verge and driveway (which crosses the LA owned verge) and causes flooding of Mill Cottage driveway. The driveway contains service access points/manholes to communication infrastructure (BT and others) and the flooding prevents access to these. The floodwater makes access to Mill Cottage difficult for service providers (e.g. postal and delivery services). The floodwater remains in place for many hours after rain has stopped, especially during lengthy periods of persistent rain. This issue has been evident for many years but has become increasingly problematic with increased rainfall patterns and verge erosion, which is cause by vehicles parking on it because they can't cross the floodwater and by recent communication infrastructure activity on the verge.
