Entrance to Aswarby Rectory

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 10:04, Tue 27 February 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 496323.

The drain is blocked and creates a lot of standing water. The driveway entrance was replaced a little while ago and the workers said the drain needed clearing and jetting. This was never done and the recent weather has made it worse. The blockage makes the area a bit of a driving hazard with both mud and water and will result in the good work being ruined.

  • We’re sending you this message to let you know that we’ve inspected and acknowledge that this gully/system is blocked, but because it is not causing a serious highway safety or property flooding issue we will not be ordering work at this time. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action

  • With regards to this response maybe it should be inspected when it is raining. During 'not so heavy rain' it floods the entrance to 2 fields and 1 wedding business that has up to 120 guest plus suppliers twice a week. These are usually non local guest so the standing water can be dangerous. It also block access to the pavement and when children need to walk onto the road to catch a school bus near the A15 they cannot actually get there due to the flooding.
