Action scheduled
Chapel Lane North Hykeham. Just before traffic lights left hand side of road.
Reported via mobile in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 16:51, Thursday 29 February 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 496806.
When it rains water collects in a large area close to footpath. Water doesn’t drain easily and stays for several hours after rain stops. It is dangerous for pedestrians walking past as cars and lorries splash a torrent of water onto the footpath.
Note … Chapel lane was closed for two weeks last year to allow contractors to sort out surface water drainage for the new properties being built in this area. Unfortunately it was not in their brief to sort out the above issue which has been ongoing for several years

It is still not fixed as drain is blocked with soil, get this drain unblocked as is a hazard for keeping kids safe using this bit of pathway, i am tired of slow council response.

I have reported this problem on many occasions over the last few years, you can now see clearly that the drain is blocked. As the road is going to be closed again from the 9th September I hope this drain will be cleared.

The road was closed on 9 September to enable Anglian Water to carry out work. Was the work to resolve this road flooding carried out during this closure? The drain near traffic lights is still blocked with grass growing out of it. Looking forward to a response.
