Adjacent to wall and Property at 2 Grosvenor Avenue, Bourne. PE10 9HU

Reported via desktop in the Tree roots raising footpath category by Kev Wright at 14:15, Fri 8 March 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 498086.

I have written to yourselves previously on four occasions, dating back to 2 March 2023. This is the fifth time of writing. Two of your trees are causing substantial problems and causing subsidence, this will get worse. I would like these two trees to be felled. I have forwarded to my solicitor and will need to send to my house insurer to pursue very shortly, as the damage will eventually cause substantial more damage which will cost the council more if left ignored. I will also write to the mayor and now the papers if there is no positive action in the next couple of weeks

  • We have an update. Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs. We’ll let you know when the job is complete.

    State changed to: Action scheduled

  • The only option you have on your website is to state that the roots are affecting the footpath. This, as I have communicated for over a year is not the case, please see my above comments and pictures. A structural surveyor and an arboriculturalist maybe more appropriate.

  • A council update is very overdue. Please issue.

  • Still no update.

  • Tree has now partially collapsed causing a danger to pedestrians and road users. This has been reported for well over a year. Both trees appear rotten and causing ongoing imminent danger. Lincolnshire Council and highways have ignored every letter and issue raised on here. This will be pursued with the local MP.
