Suttlingdales Lane. Access to residential properties.
Reported via desktop in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 13:33, Sat 11 May 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2806077.
The whole road is in Very Poor condition and is breaking up and has been bad for at least a year. It will cause damage to the resident’s cars if it is not repaired very soon. It is used regularly for residential access as well as by heavy farm machinery and HGVs. It has been reported before but not enough was done to avoid the state it is in today. The recent bad weather has caused it to deteriorate even more now, causing deep pot holes. The surface is more like a farm track than a residential lane. It is like a roller coaster to ride over it. Hopefully something will be done very soon.

Hi. A few days ago we noticed that only 3 of the small holes had been filled in. However there are a lot more to fill in and some are really deep. See above photo. Also the tarmac does not seem to have bonded very well and probably will not last very long at all. Having said this we realise that the team may not have finished repairing the road yet, so hopefully all the holes will be properly filled and fixed properly when they have finished, otherwise the pot holes will get even bigger with all the plant using the road. We really hope the team will be back and we do not have to request any more work on the road. Please let us know about the hopefully forthcoming work. Thank you. Its much appreciated.

Thank you for doing some of the holes in the Suttlingdales Lane but unfortunately it is not fixed completely yet. We still have a number of deep pot holes. One in particular is on the entrance to Suttlingdales lane and others in the middle and sides. We the residents have to manoeuvre around them to protect our cars, so we would appreciate it if it could be looked at again and repaired properly as a whole road. This road is used regularly by residents, farm plant, large refuse collection lorries and deliveries to our homes and as such it would be much better to have a proper tarmacked surface from edge to edge instead of patches of tarmac, which always breaks up and then has to reported when this happens. These holes will only get bigger over this next winter when filled up with water and snow/ice. We understand that all public roads have to be maintained (ours being one of them) at considerable expense but wouldn't it be wiser to do the job once and for all, properly. Surely, it would be more economic in the long term We appreciate that you have listened and taken some action, but the road deserves more attention and we deserve a better road because we are rate paying residents. Much appreciated and Thank you.

Please Look at above recommendations for Suttlingdales Lane road surface. We do not seem to have a reply to that entry. Everything still applies to the other potholes (which were not filled on your last visit) as they are constantly being filling up with rain water, which consequently, makes them bigger and wider. So without repeating ourselves, Sadly, it needs more attention. We still seem to have to pick our way through to avoid the existing pot holes but new ones seem to be opening up on a regular basis. We know we are one of many roads to be fixed but hope you will be able to give us a proper full road surface, to be proud of and that will ensure walking and driving are safe. Hopefully a complete tarmac surface which would last into the future. Please take note. we deserve a better road surface to walk and drive on. .......Sincerely, Concerned Residents.
