Other road surface issue problem
Reported via Open311 in the Other road surface issue category anonymously at 09:30, Friday 24 May 2024
Council ref: 4193239.
customer has called to ask if the road can be looked at, as there is a very large dip in the road and is subsiding customer does realise this has been reported before but feels it needs more attention as the state of the road is likely to cause an acident and with road works planned in the area this will cause more traffic to go down enterpriseway

Please advise when the Enterprise Way dip is going to be fixed. This is an accident waiting to happen at this large dip. The road has clearly subsided from previous roadworks. There are already marks on the road from where car bumpers have scraped along it. The surface on the new enterprise way/Spalding road roundabout is considered substandard yet there are no pot holes or dips, but this road is not classed as bad enough to be fixed.

We're sending you this message to let you know that we've assessed the road condition, a Site inspection was carried out 28/05/24, and at this time it does not require urgent repair. However we have identified this location for a larger scale improvement scheme. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates for this or definitely commit to the scheme because we prioritise these schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County road) network and the resources available to us each year. We will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspections of the highway in the meantime. Thank you for reporting this matter.

The road here is now such a problem people have to go around it to not scrape the underside of their vehicles. I watched a car go over it the other day and near lose control of their vehicle. But it's ok now. There's a bumpy road sign next to it!

Absolutely shocking road. Watched somebody fall off their bike yesterday while waiting to come out of the junction. More cars swerving all over the road to avoid the dip, making it even more dangerous. Gauges out of the surface where cars/lorries have hit the floor. Why not just sort it rather than talk about it? Or are you waiting for someone to hurt themselves and put in a big claim?

My vehicle can no longer go over this without scraping so I am now forced to stop, indicate and go around the obstacle. Annoying motorists following me and also causing a problem to people coming out of the junction nearby, to which I have now had a near miss. I either damage my vehicle on the bump or put my safety at risk and have an accident.

Supermarket delivery van having to crawl over the issue, I would suggest to protect the food cargo being held. Why do we have to put up with this?

Any updates on this? I’ve seen several vehicles go so slow over this now and scrape undersides of vehicles in the process.

How much worse does the problem need to be for it to be repaired?
