Footpath where Old Rectory borders is becoming impassable again

Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 17:57, Sat 8 June 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2808948.

Overgrown weeds, plants, hedges and trees from the border of The Old Rectory approaching the church bend are again encroaching on footpath meaning the DDA Minimum Requirement of 1200mm is down to about 30mm and we are walking on the uneven grass verge. This is an ongoing issue and causes problems for pedestrians, pushchairs, people with mobility issues using walking sticks etc. Then when it is reluctantly cut back the cuttings are left strewn over the footpath and verge for people and dogs to get entangled with. The fact this is breaking DDA minimum requirements is a disgrace.

  • State changed to: No further action

Updated by Lincolnshire County Council at 12:11, Wed 19 June 2024

  • Why has this been marked as "no further action" when the issue is not resolved. The footpath is breaching DDA minimum requirement due to overgrowth from the property and needs sorting.

  • Some work appears to have been done this weekend but as usual branches and debris is left across the footpath and verge including holly and tree branches and not cleared away. Dangerous for people still trying to walk along unobstructed pathway. Why is this not cleared away?

  • The whole stretch of pathway is always overgrown and I have to walk on the busy road. This problem has been years without being fixed, but lots of promises

  • This footpath is still overgrown by uncut hedge and is becoming a hazard. It is an unlit area of path, therefore a potential trip and injury waiting to happen. It is fast becoming impassable and requires urgent attention. October 4th 2024

  • Footpath still unwalkable. I have to now walk my dog on the busy road, and as it is now getting dark earlier it is even more dangerous.
