Reported via desktop in the Sign (unlit) category by Insp 656 Andrew Price at 06:16, Mon 17 June 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2809767.

Reported recently and appears closed in error as another report was made for a nearby sign - that one was cleared but this remains an issue.

The signs warning of the approaching bend and junction are totally covered by hedgerow so cannot be seen. The bend was the location of a fatal road collision previously so I am keen that as much is done to prevent any further collisions at this location.

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because the owner of the hedgerow has been advised to make a cut back of the hedgerow. We will continue to monitor on routine inspections. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • Thank you for your update. This matter does need resolution as it puts road users at risk and a fatal collision has occurred here previously. I would be grateful if you could advise me of the landowner details so I can seek a remedy. Would Highways be able to consider cutting the area around the hedge if this cannot be achieved in the interests of reducing the risk to road users.
