Horncastle lane, Gate 2 to Gate 3

Reported via mobile in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 21:44, Thursday 27 June 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2810843.

There is no footpath. This is a relatively narrow road carrying significant amounts of traffic at 50mph. The verges are very uneven and overgrown, not suitable for walking on. Walking facing the oncoming traffic on the road puts both the motorists and the pedestrians at risk. With fast traffic in both directions, there is no room for oncoming motorists to swerve around the pedestrians. With the new development on the corner, students from the college and residents from Woodlands Edge will walk to the shop regularly. When there are events at the showground, the traffic increases hugely. Please will you consider whether it is possible to put in a path. I have walked this at many different times of day, taking my dog to the kennels on the far side of the roundabout. It is always a dangerous and challengingly uncomfortable walk.
