Top of st Denys Avenue near the bus stop
Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 11:14, Mon 8 July 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 2811650.
The grass people came and cut the grass verges down the street and left the cuttings on the side of the road. They didn't even atteo to clean up the grass and with it bring very long grass it caused a problem. Well both drains are blocked up either side of the road. After yesterdays heavy rain the drains couldn't take the water and the road flooded as gain. Both drains need cleaning out before the heavy rain we are going to get from tomorrow onwards. There's one drain near the bus stop and one opposite on the other side of the road. . Last year it flooded so bad it came up our drives. I did try to unblock the drains but my metal pole I used wasn't long enough

Thank you for your enquiry.
Lincolnshire County Council undertakes three cuts per annum on urban and rural grass within the highway, for safety reasons only, in accordance with LCC policy.
It is inevitable that at times the weather conditions will have been favourable to rapid growth, which will result in there being more arisings present once the grass has been cut. Whilst we do not remove any arisings from the grass cutting operation, our operatives make every effort to ensure that cut grass is deposited evenly across the cut area and not left in windrows and that any excess clippings which fall onto any road, driveway or footway are to be swept up on the day the grass is cut and spread evenly across the previously cut grass area. Please be assured that we do try our utmost to reduce any impact on residents, but we are unable to control the movement of arisings once we have vacated a site.
LCC undertakes a cyclical drainage cleansing programme, but please report any localised flooding as this is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for reporting this matter.
