Ln6 7uu all of Rufford green

Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 08:01, Tue 9 July 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2811730.

Every time it rains, all of Rufford green roads floods, all the drains are full and the water has no where to go. These drains need clearing ASAP, I was told before that the problem was fixed. It's not at all. My property flooded during storm babet and the reason being the water had no where to go. Please can these drains be sorted. Thanks

  • We can confirm an officer has investigated this enquiry and visited the area. They have advised the gullies in the area were cleansed in March of this year as an ad-hoc job in response to another enquiry. At present, there are no signs of localised flooding or risk to life or property, the drains have been working with the recent rainfall.

These gullies are due to be cleansed again as part of their annual cyclic cleansing programme in November 2024.

We should inform you that a Section 19 investigation is still ongoing in the background by our Flood Risk Officers to determine a long term solution and minimise the risk of future flooding in the area. You can contact the flood risk team directly on FloodRisk@lincolnshire.gov.uk

You can also look at the status of Section 19 investigations in your area at https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/ flood-risk-management/ flood-investigations

Should we experience some rainfall in the coming weeks that causes standing water over half the width of the carriageway and doesn't drain away please report this again with photographs on FixMyStreet and we will be pleased to take a look.

Thank you for reporting this matter.
