Beck needs dredging URGENTLY
Reported via mobile in the Damaged dyke, ditch or culvert category anonymously at 10:13, Mon 15 July 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 2812342.
As you should know 1-9 Water Lane flooded in January. The beck needs dredging urgently in order to help avoid this happening again. Water has nowhere to flow to. Planning permission was passed for Ash Gardens - which was stupidly built on flood plain - with surface water being directed into the beck so accountability needs to be taken and the beck cleared to help avoid flooding again. Residents have the right to protect their property against flooding you need to do your bit

We're sending you this message to let you know that we've assessed the condition of The Beck and scheduled to have works carried out late August/Autumn time. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates because we prioritise schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County. Thank you for reporting this matter.

Someone has been out to look and has advised that only some of the beck is being done - the part up the field that won’t help us in Water Lane who are in real danger of flooding again. The beck alongside number 9 Water Lane and underneath the road needs to be emptied too. We have a right to protect our properties agains flooding. Being as environmental health allowed the surface water from Ash Garden to drain directly into the beck I expect someone to come and empty it all so as much water as possible can flow through rather than into our houses
