Junction of Pitcher Row Lane with Washdyke Road, Algarkirk

Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 08:22, Wed 17 July 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2812596.

There has been very poor drainage in this whole area for several years which has resulted in extensive mud covering the road and obliterating road markings. Contact has been made with Anglian Water to check if this is due to a water leak but checks reveal nothing untoward. It would be appreciated by local residents and passing traffic if this problem could be resolved.

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because Pitcher Row Lane is a narrow rural road in an agricultural area, as such conditions like those described are not unusual and can be expected at times when driving on the areas of our road network that are like this. The recent poor weather combined with agricultural activity has highlighted many sites like this one and we do have to prioritise the limited resource we have to issues where there is a significant highway safety issue being created but we will continue to monitor as part of our routine highway inspections. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
