Chestnut Avenue

Reported via desktop in the Problem at other roadworks category anonymously at 13:54, Wed 24 July 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2813375.

This is an ongoing problem we have spoken about this before this is the weeds in the gutters . Last week they were sprayed and then the road sweeper came a few days later which made not difference. Yesterday the road was resurfaced the whole of Chestnut Avenue but no one has removed the weeds as they have gone straight over the top of them as they are still there sticking up. There are also bare patches here and there and as for the potholes these was not filled before and are still there but not as bad as a small amount of tarmac has gone in to them . The whole road looks a mess and as for the vehicles not taking any notice of the speeds limits in place this is throwing chippings up all the time . Please please have a look at this because it is shocking the mess that has been made .

  • Chestnut Avenue has been resurfaced again today and again what a mess they have made . This is worse today than last time still no weeding or holes filled this is a shambles a waste of money and time . We all had a letter about this resurfacing and about the road being closed on the 4th so I changed my plans yesterday to today so I didn't have to go out yesterday. Today my son and I go shopping and come home to the road closed and they would not let me in to my drive with my shopping. I am disabled and struggle with lifting and carrying things but was not allowed in my drive I came up Cecil Powell Avenue to turn right as my house in on the corner but was not allowed even though 3 cars came down the road. After I had struggled with my shopping in to my house they reopened the road . I am sure they did this on purpose as the person who was not letting though waved to me as they drove off and laughed. I am not happy that I have had to suffer with this poor service and lack help from the workers . As you can see from the pictures this new surface has made no difference but has made it look worse than before.

  • You also want to go to the top of chesnut avenue near the school all the existing pot holes are still there and chunks of road have been missed near the pavement pretty much the whole way down the pathway, not to mention the gaps between the drains. The weeds have just been tarmaced over also.
