15B Deldale Road Wyberton pe21 7bt

Reported via desktop in the Tree/hedge restricting available highway category anonymously at 10:51, Tue 30 July 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 2813878.

The footpath at the side and front of this property is dangerously narrow now due to overgrown trees, shrubs , bushes! Very difficult to walk along with a double buggy and a child at the side! These trees desperately need trimming back for the safety of everyone walking along this path.

  • A quick note to let you know that we’re taking enforcement action. This type of action can take a long time to complete so whilst it might not look like we’re working on the issue, we’re being busy behind the scenes. Thanks for your patience. As this progresses, we’ll update you when we can.

  • When walking past this property, you need to be on the edge of the path so you don’t get wet through from the over hanging trees, bushes, shrubs! Not good when walking with children and a buggy! The owners have not cut back for years. Do they think they own the public footpath? They are not approachable to ask if they would cut the greenery back without being abused! Can someone please say why they are allowed to take so much of the public path away with trees, plants, shrubs all the way around their property please?

  • Is anyone looking at these issues?

  • I’m not sure how this site works? The issue was reported back in July. Nothing has been done? Can we be informed as to why or if the problem has been discussed with the property owner? Another person has reported today that the problem has got worse and the path is getting more and more covered. A public footpath! Please update us.

  • Still several months on from being reported and nothing has changed, does the property owner not have to respond to the issue? Walking past the property is only getting worse as the weather gets wetter, please update if anything is happening???

  • I am very concerned, there is an accident waiting to happen. There is a very large conifer tree at the side of the public footpath, it is now tied up with rope! If this rope snaps it will be horrendous if a person/people are nearby, I don’t understand how this can be left like this? Can the authorities please do something asap please. This is not acceptable. An Update would be appreciated.

  • Half a year on from the original report!! The Hedges still over grown into public footpath. Some are being held back with rope. Footpath is very narrow in places and very difficult to pass with pushchairs, wheelchairs and walking pets or with children. The footpath is also very mossy and slippery under foot, which is very dangerous. Is anything going to be done about this?! Also when the trees/bushes are wet and damp. Unless you walk into the road, which is a massive safety risk! You get wet from having to brush against said overgrown, leaning bushes. Some of these must be encroaching the public footpath by at least 18 inches or more in places! If someone was to erect a fence or any other structure that encroached or obstructed the public footpath, they would be made to take down or remove it!
