Newark Road at top of Russell Street

Reported via mobile in the Problem at LCC roadworks category anonymously at 15:08, Thu 1 August 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2814080.

A grating is loose in the middle of the highway, causing a loud rattle every time a vehicle's wheels make contact. It's a distraction in daytime but at night it's unbearable and keeps me and other residents awake. It's been like this for almost two weeks.

  • It is on the southbound side of Newark road just after the pedestrian crossing and opposite Russel Street.

Has actually been loose much longer, but I think a fix was attempted. Either that or the opposite one is now loose.

It has been reported before, and was removed from list.

  • Thanks for getting in touch with us. In this case, we’re not responsible for this issue, Anglian Water is. You can report this to them at https://www.anglianwater.co.uk/ contact-us/ . However, upon inspection, both covers look to have been replaced recently and there is no evidence of loose or banging ironworks. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: not the council's responsibility
