Can you please let me know when the street light on School Lane, that I first reported 10 days ago will be fixed. The last message I got was that your highways team had issued the work to one of their delivery gangs, on Monday August 5th. That was over week ago and nobody has been to do any work - the light is still not working. Please reply with a date and preferably a time when the delivery gang will be doing the work. We’ve had a look at the street light and found that it’s not working because there’s a problem with the power supply. We’ve reported this to the electricity board. Once they have fixed getting power to the light we will re-inspect it and schedule any further repairs if necessary.

Exactly when did you have " a look at the streetlight", it is right outside my home and I have not seen anyone doing checks. Please provide me with the actual report that was submitted, on which you have based your decision. I assume that this was carried out by the "delivery gang" that you issued the work to - please confirm. I need to know when the street light will be repaired. It appears that you have now found another reason to delay the work and not carry it out within the necessary timescales. it is now almost three weeks since I first reported the problem. Please explain how this conforms to your policy of carrying out such work within 10 days of its initial report from a member of the public.
If I do not get a positive response to this message before the end of this week, I will stop paying all council tax, from Saturday 24th August, with immediate effect, until it has been fixed, and will then make deductions for the days I have been kept waiting for the job to be done. Do not tell me that it is not your responsibility. This is not negotiable. Whatever you tell me about this and/or the ongoing problem.I will stop paying council tax as of next Saturday, if I do not get a date by when the problem will be fixed. Do not reply with more excuses and attempts to "pass the buck", they will not have any effect on my decision.
