Dangerous Sycamore overhanging the road opposite 2 and 3 Bridge Cottages, Welbourn
Reported via mobile in the Dying or diseased tree category anonymously at 01:27, Tuesday 13 August 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2815018.
There is a dangerous, over mature Sycamore tree overhanging the A607 on the opposite side to 2 and 3 Bridge Cottages, Cliff Road, Welbourn.
It has a large amount of crown dieback, has lost bark on the scaffold limbs and is in severe decline.
As a visitor to Bridge Cottages, I was dismayed to see the state of this tree- overhanging a busy road and footpath leading to the nearby secondary school.
It appears that other trees in this line have been high pollarded and thus I am even more surprised that this tree remains in this dangerous state, given the frequency that Highways must have completed tree surveys on this line of trees given the clear risk profile.
This tree clearly needs felling in order to minimise the overt risk presented to road users, pedestrians and the owners of 1-3 Bridge Cottages.
