Norfolk Street RHS infront of off street parking behind 17 hewson road house.
Reported via mobile in the Sign (unlit) category anonymously at 15:52, Mon 2 September 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2816865.
The sign has been placed on the dropped kerb in front of our parking spaces and is causing a nuisance for parking! Please can this be moved to the other side of the lamppost?

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because these signs are placed fairly equal distance apart along both sides of the road to be enforceable, and are placed where possible not directly in front of windows etc. This sign post is no more encroaching than the telegraph pole already in place and there are already signs the other side of the road. Thank you for reporting this matter.

The sign was put in place after the drop kerb and has been placed in a position in which it blocks the dropped kerb in which car wheels reverse back into the space, it should be placed the other side of the lamppost where it would no longer blocking the drop kerb and would still be equally placed between other signs.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because as you will see from the attached historic Google Maps view, the parking area was modified long after the drop kerbs were installed which forces an awkward angle around the pylon. The sloped dropper kerb is not designed to be driven on for vehicle access, only to show the beginning and end of the designated vehicle access. Vehicles should only drive on the sunken kerb stones level with the carriageway. It is likely that the sign could not be placed the other side of the pylon due to an abundance of underground cabling running away from the pylon. A highlighted clue here is the silver sheathing running down the pylon which will contain cabling that then runs underneath the footway. Due to the pylon being there, an extended vehicle access would not have been granted forcing drivers to navigate around it. The issue here is that the extension of the parking area was poorly thought out. Thank you for reporting this matter.
